History:

Pachmarhi's history dates back to ancient times, with evidence of cave paintings and rock shelters. During the British Raj, it became a popular hill station and military outpost. Captain James Forsyth, of the Bengal Lancers, is credited with discovering Pachmarhi as a hill station in 1857. Remains of the British era are still visible in the town's architecture and layout.
