History:
Kans Qila is believed to have been originally built by Raja Man Singh I of Amber. The fort is named after the tyrannical King Kansa, the maternal uncle of Lord Krishna, who ruled Mathura. The fort's strategic location on the banks of the Yamuna River made it a vital defensive structure throughout history. Over the centuries, Kans Qila witnessed numerous battles and changes in rulers. It was later renovated and expanded by various rulers, including the Mughals. The fort eventually fell into disrepair, with sections collapsing over time due to neglect and natural causes.
