History:

The Vijay Stambh was built by the Mewar king, Rana Kumbha, in 1448 to commemorate his victory over Mahmud Khilji, the Sultan of Malwa. The construction of the tower took about 10 years. It not only served as a victory monument but also as a symbol of Rana Kumbha's devotion to Lord Vishnu. Over the centuries, the Vijay Stambh has witnessed numerous battles and sieges, standing as a silent observer of Chittorgarh's turbulent past. It has been repaired and restored several times to preserve its structural integrity and intricate carvings. Today, it stands as a powerful reminder of the Rajputana spirit of courage and resilience.
