History:
The history of Shri Ram Raja Mandir is intertwined with a legend. It is believed that Queen Ganesh Kunwari, the wife of Raja Madhukar Shah, a devout devotee of Lord Rama, had a dream in which Lord Rama instructed her to build a temple for him in Orchha. The queen brought the idol of Rama from Ayodhya, with the condition that once the idol was placed, it could not be moved. However, before the temple could be built, the idol was kept in the queen's palace. Miraculously, the idol became firmly rooted, and the palace was converted into the Shri Ram Raja Mandir. Even today, Lord Rama is considered the king of Orchha, and the temple is treated as a royal residence.
