History:

Gorichen Peak holds immense spiritual significance for the Monpa tribe, who believe it to be the abode of their protective deity. Numerous myths and legends surround the peak, adding to its mystique. While climbing attempts began in the early 20th century, the first successful ascent was recorded in 1964 by an Indian expedition. Due to its challenging terrain and unpredictable weather, climbing Gorichen Peak remains a feat for seasoned mountaineers.
